Trevor Linden

How do I get Trevor Linden to guest referee?

I was going to go throw myself on Trevor Linden today when he was out signing autographs, in the hopes of convincing him to guest referee for the event. I decided against it... thought I should be professional about it, not make a scene, not get arrested... ha ha.

Im still left with the issue, how oh how do I get Trevor to referee. Any suggestions?

Just In Case

In case you didn't know... 40 women will skate for just over 243 hours (10 days) all to raise donations for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

Goals for the event

1. Raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis
2. Raise valuable donations
3. Beat the current Guinness World Record of 242 hours by 65 minutes

The Plan is to have 6 skaters plus a goalie play in four hour shifts. This leaves thirteen skaters to rest since Guinness rules allow for a total of twenty skaters per team.
Every player will enjoy a lovely eight hours in a row of relaxation off the ice every day at different times. Fingers crossed that no one gets injured!

I've accepted the fact that this is going to be insanely difficult... I doubt any Guinness record is easy to break.

Now you know some of the details...

Oh, did I mention the players can't leave the facility for the duration of the attempt? Oi

How time flies...

Wow, I haven't written a thing in months. Seriously, I never realized what it takes to put on such a large scale event! Somebody somewhere should of posted a sign stating that you should not try this at home!

Where to start with the trials and tribulations of organizing the longest ice hockey game. I won't bore you with the details, here is some big picture stuff.

How many times does one need to get a door slammed in your face. Looking for sponsorship, in-kind donations before you find that golden egg.

How many volunteers does it take to run an 11 day event? 50, 100 or 500. You guessed it 500... Where does one find that many dedicated people...hmmmm

Food, how much does one player consume in 11 days when on the ice for 12 hours?

How many hot tubs does one need for 40 players and 10 hard-core volunteers? Ok this is a fun one to figure out.

I must say that things are coming together though... The hard work is paying off! With less than three months before the puck drops I can see a glimmer of light. Now how do I turn on the high beams.

Video Idea

I had the best idea today for a kick-ass YouTube video to get some awareness of the game. I can't tell you too much because I can't ruin the surprise. I will say though that it will feature some Chiclets hockey players with a totally awesome song that will get the audience completely enthralled!

So exciting! What should I call the video?

We need more Volunteers

My committee rocks!

Were realizing that we need way more volunteers. Committee members can only do what they feel is within their capability. We all have busy lives with our relationships, hockey, socializing plus busy demanding jobs. As the game gets closer we will just get busier and busier with the demands of the event.

It's time to start recruiting great task minded people. Let me know if you can think of any one?

We have a VENUE!!

Great news peeps... we have our venue! Canlan Ice Sports 8 Rinks in Burnaby, B.C.

Canlan will be the Longest Ice Hockey Games Presenting Sponsor! Wow, this is fantastic on so many levels. We will be raising a ton of awareness for CF plus hopefully an arena full of cash.

On to the next step... finding 40 crazy women!
